- 仕事内容

・To ensure our stewardship responsibilities and activities in the context of the Japan’s Stewardship Code.
・To create investment opportunities for the portfolio managers by conducting engagement with companies to pursue superior ROIC and growth.
・To create investment opportunities by persuading company management to execute corporate reform.
・To develop engagement strategy, lead dialogues with company management, analyze execution ability, incorporate unlocking value impact into investment thesis, and monitor progress.
・To train analysts on how to find engagement opportunity, provide analysts with standardised engagement guidelines, communication disciplines and assessment method of execution ability.
・To work closely with the HoR and DoRs in navigating the analysts in Japan in the areas of engagement.
*External Communication with Industry Groups and Clients
・Communicate with our institutional clients; other shareholders; represent our views with industry bodies; regulators; and research vendors (producing and delivering presentations where required).
・Maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders including: the equity research teams; London Corporate Finance; UK Corporate Actions Department; UK and European proxy voting teams and ESG teams; legal department; compliance; audit; corporate actions; regulatory reporting; institutional marketing; corporate communications and public affairs; and our overseas offices.
・Undertake travel to other offices when necessary in relation to policy development, client requirements, or to develop mutually productive relationships. Work in the London office when required with the UK based Corporate Finance team to maintain consistency in the approach and agree to differentiate if necessary.
*Communication
・To work with the Portfolio Managers to ensure that the engagement activity is being utilised appropriately in the portfolios and to get a better understanding for the reasons when it is not
・To read analysts research in order to find engagement agenda and advise them how to expand scope of analysis/research
・Help reconcile differences of opinion between the analysts and the PMs where appropriate
*Regulatory issues
・To monitor relevant regulatory changes with regard to engagement agenda and update analysts and the PMs
・To engage with regulatory bodies and build better investment environment for the clients - 必要経験

・Experience as an analyst and expertise in accounting and valuation
・A deep knowledge of markets and be able to quickly gain an understanding of equity markets.
・A strong knowledge of the Stewardship Code, the Corporate Governance Code, the Company Act, other relevant Acts, accounting standards and corporate disclosure rules and guidelines
・The position requires strong project-management skills and the ability to solve problems creatively. For example, the engagement process is a cumbersome, step-intensive procedure
・Excellent business judgment
・Strong communication skills; ability to represent Fidelity effectively in external discussions with investee companies and in other situations
・Experience in a client-facing role
・Self-starter - shows initiative
・Demonstrated ability to work with others
・Solid analysis skills and superior writing ability in Japanese; legal drafting experience desired, but not essential.
・Attention to detail
・Ability to work under pressure
・In-depth knowledge of the mechanics relating to the platforms and procedures associated with submitting shareholder votes
・General overview of equity markets
